My name is Andy Palmer and I created this website and my company, G&A Numerical, to help prepare prospective and current student teachers to take the QTS numeracy test. I have a wealth of experience in the field having previously taught PGCE Primary, Secondary and BA Primary Education students at the University of Roehampton, London as a numeracy specialist. Between 2010 to 2013 I have helped over 400 students to pass the QTS Numeracy Skills Test.
In September 2012 the Department for Education raised the stakes for Initial Teacher Trainees by toughening the requirements for basic skills tests in numeracy and literacy. The ’3 strikes’ rule is especially tough for those who specialise in non-numerical subjects or are out of practice.
I hold regular revision classes where participants receive tuition in the key topics required to successfully answer QTS test questions at speed including, fractions, percentages, decimals, time, conversions (currency and distance) and statistical diagrams/tables. Check out the upcoming events page for further information.
